The Greeting Farm Presents A Sketch Challenge

I have stumbled upon a new card making site that I just LOVE...Lilly Pad Cards. They are part of Inlinkz which does all those the linky thingies for challenges you see on your fave sites. They really rock and you should check them out :)

This week Lilly Pad Cards with the help of The Greeting Farm stamp company, is having a sketch challenge. As you may know from reading some of my posts, I'm a sucker for a good sketch! I don't have any Greeting Farm stamps (yet anyways, hehehe) and have never ventured into ditigal stamps, but you simply must check them out. They have the most adorable big doe eyed characters and adorable critters! I think I must get on the band wagon with the virtual stamps...they have an amazing selection and thier characters are too hard to resist! It's seriously calling for me to make a second card for this challenge ;)

Here's what I came up with for this sketch challenge.....

As you can see from their sketch, there's a oval focal point with the sentiment framing it, a small circle on either side and two corner brackets. I used a modified oval for my focal point with buttons on either side and for the corner brackets I stamped stitching lines with a bow in the upper corner and a spool of thread with a needle in the lower corner.

I really heart this card for several reasons...first, I NEVER seem to use blue. I don't know why, it's not like I don't like blue, I just never seem to gravitate towards it. Second, I have been seeing the "sewing" stamps and accessories everywhere lately and have just fallen in love with this little trend. I just purchased these stamps recently and this is the first time using them...I'm so happy with the results and am hoping this trend stays a looooong time!

Hope you enjoyed my card and thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think....good or bad....or even better - what would you have done differently??...crafty minds wanna know!

I really like how you de-centered (is that a word?) the inner label so that you could get the sentiment in on the outer one - very clever! I love blues, so this card made me smile! Thanks so much for playing with us at Lily Pad Cards!
