Autum Wood...Tuesday Trigger

Ohh what fantablous colors fall brings us...warm rich tones of greens, golds, reds, oranges and browns...I could go on forever...but I won't ;) You can thank me later! *insert giggles*

This weeks Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab World is showcasing those wonderful colors using this amazing stained wood post wall thing...it truly is lovely!

Well, here's what I came up with...
I had a terriable time getting a picture of this card! My camera isn't working so I had to use my phone and it just won't capture the copper glitter and warmness of all the colors I used. No mater what I did, the yellow looks bright, but in reality it's a lovely orange-ish yellow..sigh.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

"Cruising by" Lawn Fawn style

I felt like I was on a roll with this little challenge and the whole CAS thing so I just kept on truckin and made a 2nd card....
Have you ever fell in love with a set of stamps, but just wasn't sure how to use them? This would be one of those sets...I just LOVE it, and I've had it for a while, but wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. The entire (center) bicycle is paper pieced with the exception of the spokes inside the tires and the chain. The handlebars, pedal assembly & wheel hubs are out of silver paper, the tires out of black cardstock, handle grips, seat & basket are out of a yellow plaid paper and the bike frame from a red paper with yellow flowers. The other two bicycles are just stamped directly to the card and colored in. Here's an up close look...

Sorry, not sure who the patterned paper is by.

Snowmen melt my heart....

The wonderful gals over at Lawnscaping have come up with a great challenge...
Sounds like fun doesn't it?? I couldn't wait to get started!! My only issue was ..which stamps to use, I wanted to play with all of them. Lawn Fawn stamps are great to paper piece with!

I decided I should push my luck on making CAS cards (see this post), so I put on some 80's jams, cranked up the volume & started singing at the top of my lungs and came up with this little guy.
I was feelin that little pop of red thanks to Nena's 99 red balloons lol! Here's a little different look...
I stamped and cut out the large snowman, scarf and heart. Then traced the snowman onto the back side of the shimmery blue cardstock and cut it out a little larger than the actual snowman. I dry embossed the snowman and background cardstock with a snowflake folder and popped up the snowman with a little foam tape. I opted for no sentiment on the front, I just didn't want to take away from the snowman at all and that little red heart just felt right...hope you like it!

Tuesday Trigger...finesse the dress

Cath over at Moxie Fab World has given us another wonderful Tuesday Trigger item to inspire us!Isn't this dress adorable...It's flirty and sophisticated all in one.
Funny how you start a card how you think you want it, that it turns out so differently. I had envisioned heat embossing...glitter...something sorta sassy maybe. Well, I ended up with simple...elegant...timeless. You just go where the card takes you ;)

No matter how I took the picture, you couldn't get the true effect of the papers I used. All the papers came from DeNami Design. The black is a true deep black and the silver & aquamarine colored cardstocks have a slight shimmer to them. I wish you could see it in real life...the effect is great. Of course I had to finish it all up with a yummy sheer iridescent ribbon and bow :)

Embellish Magazine Color Trend & Buttons

The wonderfully talented folks over at Embellish magazine have brought us another WONDERFUL color palette and design element challenge. I'm pretty giddy over this one because it calls for BUTTONS! Ohh how I heart buttons!! I would use them on every card if I thought I could get away with it ;)
For my focal point I actually wanted the flowers heat embossed. I ended up having to stamp them in the colored ink then re-stamped them in versa-mark and used clear embossing powder. A little extra work especially since the flowers were masked off, but so worth the effort (as I'm writting this, I had an "ohh Duh!" moment. I not only have a Versa-Mark pen, but a regular embossing ink pen as well...would have been SO much easier!!) For my back ground I used a distress ink and randomly stamped buttons all over. I finished off my card by adding the buttons to the flower centers and dotting the "i" in my sentiment.

Can you see the stamped buttons on the pretty yellow back ground...here's a closer look

DeNami Design color challenge #8 (card #2)

*I originally had both cards in one post, but I couldn't link the pictures of both cards...had to separate the posts*

Dang that Paulina is a quick one! She already left a comment before I could get the posts separated. ;) So, here's the other card I made:

I just got a new edge punch and just had to give it a try the second I got home...decided to make another card for the DeNami color challenge. if you read my other post you will know that the card I made was totally out of the norm for me. This one, let's just say...definitely more my style and inside my glitter filled box for sure!
I feel so much more at home with every inch being stamped, all my fussy punched layers, ribbon and yummy bow...back in my toasty warm comfort zone ;)

Don't forget to head on over to the challenge on the DeNami blog and see what everyone's doing!

DeNami Design color challenge #8

Have you seen some of the stuff the design team over at DeNami Design comes up with…they totally rock! Dana has put together a simply yummy color pallet for their latest color challenge.

I will admit, while I love the combo, I did start off struggling with fitting in the charcoal grey. I ended up using a dark grey ink for all the stamping versus using a grey cardstock or element. I tried using the cardstock but it just didn’t seem to fit anywhere.

Now then, if you follow me at all, this card may shock you…it still shocks me! I am not one of those amazing gals that can pull off the “clean & simple” thing. Nope, nu-unh, not me at all. But take a gander at this one…

I know, right...it totally works and is quite pretty if I may toot my own horn? I’m still trying to figure out how I did it...some of you gals simply must be rubbing off on me...WOO-HOO for the inspiration!   That lime green cardstock from DeNami Design is one of my all time faves…such a great color and I love the texture of their cardstocks too.

That’s all for today, be sure to check out the color challenge over on the DeNami blog!

DeNami Designs WCMD challenge...

I've had time to process and am stunned speechless...still! If you know me, then you know of my glittery puffy heart LOVE for all things DeNami Design....I mean I am partnered with my Twinkie, Wendy on a blog dedicated to DeNami and all lol! So anyway, for WCMD the amazing gals at DeNami Design created a challenge asking for cards that interpret this gorgeous picture...
Why am I telling you all of this when WCMD has been over for a while now you say?? Well, one of the three cards I submitted got picked (doin a happy dance!!) Can you believe it...I sure can't?!?!?! What this means is I am one of 3 ladies that get our cards showcased in the DeNami newsletter...just amazing :)  I can't begin to think of how many people are going to be seeing my work...hmmm, little stage fright is startin to creep in!

Guess you want to see the card hunh? lol, I almost forgot to post the picture...

Ohh how I LOVE me some layers!!

This is one challenge that is right up my alley!! I LOVE layers...the more the merrier!! *sigh* Layers make me happy :)   So, needless to say, when this little Lawnscaping challenge came up, I was ecstatic!
In looking over my stash of Lawn Fawn stamps, I decided to make my first Christmas card of the season, their little tree is just too darling! :)
I punched and layered the green and white cardstock...added red ribbon and attached it to a red card. I dusted the white panel with a little blue chalk just to give a tinge of color then added the giant snow flakes. After paper piecing the trees (some are actually cut down to make a smaller tree) I added a little snow to them also. 2 of the trees are flat with the middle layer and top layer of trees popped up. I used foam tape with different thicknesses on the two trees on the middle layer so one is slightly higher than the other...does that make sense to you...hope so lol. After I layered all the trees on my panel I added foam tape to the back popping up the whole thing....then added the bright red bow. Hope you like it :)

How bout a closer look....

The patterned paper is by Wild Asparagus...had it for a while so I couldn't find a link to it.

Yummy Circles

The folks over at Embellish Magazine have come up with another awesome challenge...

Aren't those colors simply gorgeous together...I would have NEVER thought to throw a chocolaty color in with red and green!

When I saw this I knew I had the perfect paper...I know, it's a bit of a shock, me having store bought patterned paper, who'da thunk, right? I do LOVE making my own patterned paper, but sometimes...though very rarely, will pull something outta my secret stash ;)

I just love this little ribbon from the Admit One set by Lawn Fawn...so versatile! I stamped them in a chocolate Momento ink and stamped the letters in a red Momento ink. I think the alphabet is by MSE, but not quite sure.

DeNami Fall Blog Hop

HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!!! I think fall is my favorite season…and no, contrary to my family’s belief, it’s not because I get home made stuffing & a turkey leg, but that does help!! ;) Now if I could sit in a room all by myself, scarfing down said home made stuffing and turkey leg and be outta all the usual family drama…that’d be a real treat and I'd TRULY be thankful!!! Well, enough of all that family drama business...you seriously DON'T wanna get me started ;) and besides, I don't have a bottle of wine handy!

Are ya ready for some more super fun hoppin'? Got your coffee maybe a energy bar to keep you going...I'll wait....alrighty, let's get movin' shall we?

You should have arrived here from Lisa's blog. She is so talented...just LOVE her work, it's always so clean and crisp looking...couldn't pull that off if my life depended on it! If you didn't, just head on back to DeNami's blog ta get back on track. Don't forget to leave those comments gals...DeNami Design is giving away two $20 gift certificates to two randomly picked people that have left comments along the hop. So be sure to leave everyone a little love….we bloggers live for your comments and besides, who wouldn’t be excited about the possibility of winning a DeNami Design gift certificate??? Oohh how I puffy heart me some DeNami stamps and just recently had to add another 3 drawers to my storage system!!

Well, here's what I came up with...

I just love my little Jack O'lantern! Notice the background paper? Mmhmm, did it myself...I'm so proud that I'm getting out of my box a little. I created all the vining using 4 separate stamps...the curly garland border and both twirly guys from the leaf accent set, then added the little leaves from the elegant floral set. Did ya notice the candle yet?? Mmmhmm, made that too! I used the same stamps for the vining and the small Jack O'Lantern. I learned how to do this a couple of years ago...makes an awesome gift! While I'm tooting my own horn, I might as well tell ya'll that I made the candle holder too lol. A close friend owns a ceramic studio...I love to go play there :)

A little close up...
Don't forget to leave me a comment...good or bad, all are welcome and now off you go to visit Nicki Scheck. I'm betting she has some truly amazing eye candy for ya...can't wait to hop on over there myself!

Treat Yourself to a Tuesday Trigger......

I tell ya, Cath over at Moxie Fab World never fails to amaze me with her truly inspirational pictures she throws at us for her Tuesday Triggers! This weeks trigger is simply scrumptious...Check it out...YUMMY!

Besides having me seriously drooling...I just love the warm rich tones.

Here's my little card....
In case you can't tell, I pulled the colors from the picture for my card... warm golden & orange tones of the wonderfully gooy caramel , the rich burgundy red of a delicious crisp apple, the deep chocolaty brown of that scrumptious brownie and the cream from the pillow clouds of whip cream...excuse me, drooling again ;)

For the background I actually stamped a patchwork quilt. I used a stitch border stamp and did a random pattern, then stamped inside each "quilt block" to create my quilt. Fussy cutting those leaves on the sentiment panel was A LOT of work...but I just love them :)  The sentiment panel is poped up on foam tape...I stamped the Jack O'Lantern trio then masked them off and then used the other Jack O'Lantern that I had used on the background.

A little closer look...

WCMD - Lawn Fawn Style

For WCMD Lawn Fawn came up with something kinda like what Wendy and I did over on our DeNami Addict blog...We challenged you to not only make a card, but to ACTUALLY send it. Lawn Fawn's challenge is better by far...they added a twist...a prise for a couple of randomly chosen people!! Can I get a WOOT? Love those kind of challenges...especially when it involves Lawn Fawn...I be needin' me some more of their stamps for sure (especially that darling snowman set that Archivers was out of)!

Needless to say, I just HAD to enter this little challenge! While I didn't make a card for a loved one like was suggested...I made a card that I thought was fitting. I am making cards to send into the OWH organization. They say you can include what they call an "any hero" card. This is a card that goes directly to a solider from you. Since our soldiers are half way around the world, I thought I'd make one for the box of cards I'm getting ready to send out. I wasn't going to, I mean, what can I say to them...a thank you just isn't enough now is it? I'm glad that Lawn Fawn got me thinking about it again and ya know, I feel pretty happy about sending the card...I mean, I'm sitting in my safe comfy home surrounded by my loved ones....it's the least I SHOULD do.

If you want to list your supplies like I do, feel free to steal my code...it's on my sidebar. ;)

World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day!!

I hope all the mojo flows freely and all of you gals have a great day of making cards!

After my errands and normal household obligations I managed to come up with a few cards myself  then add a trip to Archivers on top of that...I had a great day !

The folks over at Lawn Fawn & The Lawnscaping Blog came up with a great way to celebrate this awesome day...a CHALLENGE! How super awesome :)

The deal is, is that we make a card, any theme...just so long as we use Lawn Fawn stamps. Well this was a no brainer for me. I knew I wanted to make a card to show my love to my long distance bestie and fellow card maker, Wendy. We have been friends for several years now but have always lived in different states. It's probably better that way...if we lived near each other we would be in trouble ;)  Wendy & I share a passion for card making, 80's music and much much more. We're so much alike you'd swear we were twins. She says we're Twinkies...get it, lol...she's a hoot! She's always there with an honest opinion and to cheer me on when I need it, so, to honor my card making Twinkie on this special day and show her how much I appreciate her, I'm dedicating this little card to my twin, twinkie, my partner in crime...
If there was a prize given out for utilizing the most sets of stamps in one card...I'd get the prize lol. I didn't realize it until I was making notes for this post, but I managed to pull in elements from 6 sets of Lawn Fawn stamps! WOW lol!

Sew Lovely - flower & dress form
Cruising Through Life - wind swirl thingie
Petite Florals - 2 flowers
Bannerific - banner
Admit One - partial sentiment
Turkey Day - partial sentiment
