Old McDonald had A Farm...

Okay, so if you remember correctly, I actually have two submissions for the animal challenge over at DeNami Design. However, before I let you see this second one I want to explain my inspiration for this little card. Never mind...I think it will be more fun if you can GUESS my inspiration...I bet my twinkie, Wendy, can...she's got a  twisted little mind like myself and  can see humor in just about everything :)

Ohh and before you even think it...I know the frame is not DeNami, but in my defense, it's Lawn Fawn and totally too freaking cute, an well, that makes it okay, mmkay? ;)
Any guess on my inspiration?? No?? Hmmm, think about a "famous" paining that is a part of Americana art maybe. Still, no?? Jeeze, ya'll are kinda slow ;) (hehehe)  Well, I'm sure that you gals have guessed that iconic painting of the farmer with the pitch fork standing next to a woman (I always thought it was his wife...but it's his daughter..ooops) and they're looking all surly and put out. Heck, I'd probably look that way too if I had to stand there waiting for the painter to finish and not to mention daddy probably had a little sumthin extra on his shoes from feeding the piggies...just sayin' lol ;)   Well, my guys are happy as little clams and loved getting their picture "painted"!
We all know by now that I love making my own background paper...with DeNami stamps it's so dang easy! If you look real close, I tried to make it look like wall paper...was trying to go for the whole "painting hanging on a wall" thing.
I stamped the three line border with linen distress ink onto a dark cream cardstock then randomly stamped the mini swirl in versa-mark all over. The painting is popped up on foam tape. The piggy in the painting is on foam tape too for a little added dimension. Ummm, let's see, what else...ohh, the scarecrows are all paper pieced in of course. There's a faint blue and brown coloring (with chalk) for the sky and ground. And the barn window is paper pieced in too only because I got carried away when coloring the barn in and colored in the window too lol! Lastly the animals at the bottom are all fussy cut and glued on. Guess that's about it. Hope you liked my card :)

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think....good or bad....or even better - what would you have done differently??...crafty minds wanna know!
