Cute as a button...

Welcome to my first ever Lawnscaping challenge. Not quite sure why I haven't participated in one before...I mean, ever since DeNami Design introduced me to Lawn Fawn I have been a big fan...What's not to love about their stamps, right?

Soooooo, I thought it was about time I started being a little more on the active side vs. the stalker side and submit a little sumthin' sumthin'.   ;)

The challenge is getting texty. I have to admit I picked an easy one outta the gate...don't judge lol. Well, without further ado, here's what I did....

Don't ya just hate it when sometimes no matter how you take the picture, it's just never right?? That was my issue here. You can't see it very well in my pictures, but in person it's adorable and shows up...trust me lol. I used pink ink on the pink cardstock layer and randomly stamped the "cute as a button" sentiment along with the flower button from the Sew Lovely set.

For the white card stock layer I again stamped the sentiment and added the stem/leaf and the flower from the Petite Florals set. The white button I used on the twine actually has flecks of pink and green in it...I'm really feelin this little card and can't wait to send it to someone special.

Old McDonald had A Farm...

Okay, so if you remember correctly, I actually have two submissions for the animal challenge over at DeNami Design. However, before I let you see this second one I want to explain my inspiration for this little card. Never mind...I think it will be more fun if you can GUESS my inspiration...I bet my twinkie, Wendy, can...she's got a  twisted little mind like myself and  can see humor in just about everything :)

Ohh and before you even think it...I know the frame is not DeNami, but in my defense, it's Lawn Fawn and totally too freaking cute, an well, that makes it okay, mmkay? ;)
Any guess on my inspiration?? No?? Hmmm, think about a "famous" paining that is a part of Americana art maybe. Still, no?? Jeeze, ya'll are kinda slow ;) (hehehe)  Well, I'm sure that you gals have guessed that iconic painting of the farmer with the pitch fork standing next to a woman (I always thought it was his wife...but it's his daughter..ooops) and they're looking all surly and put out. Heck, I'd probably look that way too if I had to stand there waiting for the painter to finish and not to mention daddy probably had a little sumthin extra on his shoes from feeding the piggies...just sayin' lol ;)   Well, my guys are happy as little clams and loved getting their picture "painted"!
We all know by now that I love making my own background paper...with DeNami stamps it's so dang easy! If you look real close, I tried to make it look like wall paper...was trying to go for the whole "painting hanging on a wall" thing.
I stamped the three line border with linen distress ink onto a dark cream cardstock then randomly stamped the mini swirl in versa-mark all over. The painting is popped up on foam tape. The piggy in the painting is on foam tape too for a little added dimension. Ummm, let's see, what else...ohh, the scarecrows are all paper pieced in of course. There's a faint blue and brown coloring (with chalk) for the sky and ground. And the barn window is paper pieced in too only because I got carried away when coloring the barn in and colored in the window too lol! Lastly the animals at the bottom are all fussy cut and glued on. Guess that's about it. Hope you liked my card :)

Spring time tweety birds...

I know that fall is barely upon us...tomorrow is officially the start of fall in fact. However, I have had this darling birdhouse stamp sitting on my desk BEGGING me to play with it for a while now...and hey, who am I to deny a begging stamp, right? *sigh* So many stamps, so little time....  ;)

Did you hear that DeNami Design is having a little challenge? Well they are and we all know how I am a sucker for anything DeNami...I mean being a co-conspirator of a blog dedicated to them should have given you a clue as to just how much I love their stamps and other products :)

I actually have two cards I'm submitting...I had to whittle it down from four so no judging on the fact that I'm submitting 2...that was hard work!! How could I just pick one when I could barely pick just two?? :S

I did learn one thing while making this card...fussy cutting tweetys is for the birds!! (*snickers* I made a funny)

Okay, seriously though, I don't know about you, but I kinda really heart this little card. Paulina has me addicted to this color combo and it's perfect for the little scene I created. All the little tweetys are trimmed in citrone glitter and I colored the houses in pink then fully glittered them with strawberry freeze glitter...it's glitter-riffic! The white panel is popped up on foam tape, but the dang humidity from the rain was playing havoc with my cardstocks...everything in the house feels clammy and my cardstocks are even kinda wilty...The whole card is even kinda sagging in the stand...jeeze >.<

Queen Of Hearts...

Being a little stressed for time…I decided to do something I have never done before. I hate to do it, but there are only 24 hours in a day…and sometimes I just need more! I made this card for two separate challenges…I know what you’re thinking…lots of people do that all the time, but hey, I’m not lots of people and I just don’t do it…There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just not my thing is all.

So Cath over at Moxie Fab World challenged us with playingcards…hmm, that gave me a little pause…never tackled something like that before.

And then there was this great sketch over at Lilypad Cards (everyone knows I puffy heart a sketch challenge!)…

If you have been following me here or on the DeNami Addict site, you know I LOVE making my own background paper. I decided with this card to take it a step further and make the cards too! I was going for the whole “card suites & harlequin / heart” romance thing….

I made my “playing cards” from a EK tag punch (I just cut the top off and rounded 2 corners for a little flair) and stamped them.  They are lifted up on pop dots as is my sentiment. I think it turned out nice for not having a red ink pad, I used a marker to color in my stamps, the small ones are usualy no problem, I do it all the time, but I was worried about that large harlequin border. I really wanted to add glitter to all of the red hearts throughout the card, but as with most of my cards lately it’s designated for OWH and we just can’t add that little extra bling...just use your imagination and pretend all my little red hearts sparkle, mmkay? Hope ya liked it :)

And What A Sweet Hop It Is.....

Hello fellow DeNami lovers! Hope you haven’t over loaded on all the sweet eye candy yet, cause you my friend, are just getting started! At least it won’t all go to the hips or in my case, the tushie! ;)

You should have arrived here from my bestie & partner in crime (sometimes I think twin…it’s truly scary how much we are alike lol) Wendy. That was a truly yummy-licious treat wasn’t it? I didn't even have to peek at her card before hand, I know that there will be pink and bling involved! Did you leave her a comment….because DeNami Design is giving away 2 $20 gift certificates to two randomly picked people that have left comments along the hop. So be sure to leave everyone a little love….we bloggers live for your comments and besides, who wouldn’t be head over heels excited about the possibility of winning some awesome DeNami products??? I think if I keep adding to my collection they may need their own zip code! :) But ohh how I puffy heart me some DeNami goodies!

One of my favorite sweet treats...big juicy grapes. There is nothing like biting into a cold crisp juicy grape.  I  even  love to freeze them...it's kinda like candy without all of the guilt! I’ve had the idea for this card in my head ever since this little darling was spotlighted…but  I just never got around to doing it. When Paulina announced this theme I realized that this is my chance to finally bring my little idea to life…no more waiting! I had envisioned leafy vines framing the card with yummy grapes hanging, just waiting to be picked....I combined a couple of sets of stamps with those yummy grapes; leaf accents and my favorite go to set, ornamental flowers. I chalked the whole thing to give it a “soft” look and added a little Viva pearl pen and pop dotted the sentiment panel for dimension. Hope you like it.

Before you run off I have what I think is an AWESOME announcement to make. As most of you know, Wendy and I are partners on the DeNami Addict blog. We truly are addicted…I’m serious when I say my collection may need its own zip code lol! Being the most fantastic company that they are, DeNami Design has offered us the opportunity to host a blog candy give away! Make sure you visit the DeNami Addict blog on Wednesday for details and a chance to win a truly wonderful DeNami prize!!!!

Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - Garden Glory

Don't ya just LOVE this picture Cath over at Moxie Fab World came up with....yummy! I couldn't decide which elements to use for my inspirational card....so I chose all of them! The colors, the pattern from the chair, the floral element from the pillow, the shapes from the square book and round table...

For the background I dry embossed then I tried something I have never done before...I've seen gals stamp distress inks onto a stamp block (for clear stamps), spritz it and use the special little tool with the felt pad to swirl them together then onto the paper. I actually used 2 colors of green and one blue...Not too bad for a first time I think. For the flower I used pencils and gamsol...I heart that effect!

Would you like to list your supplies like I do...here's a code for Inlinkz 40415796...give it a try, it's free until December!!

Colors and Stripes....

The gals over at Embellish magazine have come up with yet another fun challenge! What a great color palette and then throwing in those yummy stripes...LOVE it :) My first thought was of glitter, glitter and more lovely glitter.

I stamped and then fussy cut those flowers...the red have blue glitter centers and the blue ones have red glitter centers. I then used iridescent glitter on all the petals. The iridescent ribbon picks up all the red in the card...I heart glitter, can ya tell? lol

Vertical Sketch Challenge, card #2 - Moxie Fab World

Ohh how I heart a good sketch...something pleasing to the eye and easy to work with...This sketch has it all! This vertical sketch challenge over at Moxie Fab World just calls to me...I simply could not resist doing an additional card for this one!

Here's the sketch...

And here's my second card...
To make the 3 little focal points I stamped 2 of the keys directly on the card in black and for the larger middle one I used a key (from 7 gypsies I think) hung on a piece of black wire.

Shaped sketch challenge - Moxie Fab World

Wow, these sketch challenges have really been a blast! Hats off to Cath over at Moxie Fab World for such a FUN challenge!!  This shaped challenge was supposed to be first...but like a normal procrastinator, when I'm pushed outta my sparkly little box, I save the hardest for last. I have never made a shaped card...I'm a plain ole rectangle let the embellishments speak for themselves card kinda gal. However, that being said, after making this card, I can certainly see lots more shaped cards in my future!

Here's the sketch we were to use...

And here's my card.....
I dusted off the Cricut and die cut (shadowed so they were connected) the flower from pink card stock then cut a single one from patterned paper to overlay it. I added a plain burgundy card stock circle and overlayed that with my accordion fan folded circle that I made using four different patterned papers and a plain pink (all from the same collection) to separate the four areas. I made the stick pin and added all the pretty little elements then tucked the sentiment up underneath.
Did you notice my little butterfly, he's actualy made up from 3 layers...I heart that punch!

Supplies:

The Cricut cartridge I used was "Bags, Tags, Boxes & More and the papers were from Basic Grey
