You should have arrived here at my blog from Jenny Stucky's blog. If you didn't and have gotten lost on the way, don't worry...there's a list of participents on the Lawnscaping blog. Just head there to get back on track :)

Well, when I think of spring, I think of flowers starting to bloom and the birds singing sweetly in the early morning light....

I just puffy heart L O V E Lawn Fawns new Gnome Sweet Gnome set. Flamingos are my thing. I even loved flamingos before they got all retro and cool again (even have a tattoo of one...shhh). I stamped and fussy cut some clouds the ran them through my Cuttle bug for dry embossing and finished them off with a little dusting of chalk. I stamped the "flower" stems using the Lawn Fawn Petiete Florals set, then masked them off and stamped the grass from Gnome Sweet Gnome in 3 shades of green ink. I then stamped (using masks again) the flamingos for my flowers. The fussy cut birds flying around are from Gnome Sweet Gnome also. The string for the bow on the center flamingo is from Lawn Fawn also...I saved it from the packaging when I got my order! I love how they tie the sets together with a pretty little bow :)

I hope you liked my card, and hope you have had a great time joining us for the hop. Are you worn out yet...only 6 more to go. So grab ya a cuppa Joe and prepare to see some more wonderful creations!! Now off you go to visit with Ayana Posadas!

Isn't this an interesting little theme, makes me think someone may have a birthday coming up...like DeNami Designs, perhaps??? ;)

So be sure to leave everyone a little love….we bloggers live for your comments and besides, who wouldn’t be excited about the possibility of winning a DeNami Design gift certificate??

You should have arrived here from the uber mucho talented Pam Wendt's blog. If not, and you're a little off track, just click on the above link for DeNami's blog for the full list of participants. Now as you all know, I am a sucker for DeNami's style of stamps...hence my partnership with Wendy on the DeNami Addict blog. Of course when the new stamps were released, we both decided that we HAD to have them all! After getting my new goodies I just couldn't resist nixing the card I had ready for this hop and make a new one....

Can you spot all the new stamps?? To be honest, when I opened my little box I was way overwhelmed! I ran upstairs to my crafty room / bedroom and dumped them on the bed to run my fingers through them (tmi?? hehehe) check them all out. What yummy goodies indeed!! But where to start...I must admit that I sat there staring at them for the longest time. I managed to get some inky but just had a hard time coming up with something...when Mojo saw the sheer volume and cuteness that she had to do justice to, she ran and hid in the closet. It took some coaxing to get her out...well, okay, just a new ink pad ;)  but I managed and am on a roll. I have quite a few for the DeNami Addict blog in the works so stay tuned!
Well, hope ya liked what I came up with, now off you go to see the wonderful creation that Pattie Goldman has to share with us. She's amazingly creative, have fun!

Lawnscape distress challenge

I'm not very good at using distress inks...I just never seem to do it so I don't get much practice. However, I love the result...so why is it that I don't do it more??? Sigh, one of life's mysteries!!

I was pretty excited when I saw the Lawnscaping challenge theme AND knew I had time to make a little sumthin' up for it! I made the base card using a chocolate cardstock then took white cardstock and layered on 2 shades of rose and one shade of green distress inks (victorian velvet, tattered rose & bundled sage), blending them untill I got a nice soft background. I added some slpatter on top of that using my favorite ink...vintage sepia Versafine.

For the focal panel I started with cream cardstock and scored the four panels. After folding the scored lines I sponged on Vintage Sepia Versafine and stamped the flowers using the same distress inks I used to make the background. To finish it off I sponged more of the rose distress inks onto the four panels. For the ribbon, I layered a pretty shade of grosgrain ribbon with the crocheted chocolate ribbon...just love the effect I got doing that.

Chickies are like bacon...

Yes, you read that right, Chickies ARE like bacon...everything is better with bacon or Chickeis in this case!

DeNami January Blog Hop

Are you ready for a wonderful blog hop?? DeNami Designs has done it again...what a GREAT theme and I'm really excited to be a part of it.

Here's all the info you need:
Just follow the links in the posts to hop along and visit everyone. If for some reason you get off track you can head over to the DeNami blog to get back on track. DeNami Design is giving away two $20 gift certificates to two randomly picked people that have left comments along the hop, you have till February 13th @ 11:59pm PST!! You should have arrived here from the awesomely talented Emily Keaton...what a way to start off a hop, hunh...Super yummy!!

In signing up for this hop I didn't realize just how hard of a time I was going to have with the theme...I was thinking it would be a piece of cake honestly. Well, that was until I pulled out my stash of chickies and had to pick just one...what an impossible task!!!!

I finally decided to revamp a card I made a while back...This one's much better by the way, I never was happy with the other card. I wanted to see just how many chickies I could fit on one card...Hmmm, maybe Chickies aren't like bacon, maybe they're like chips...you can't have just one? (great, I'm officially hungry now lol) I added citrone glitter to each chickie and filled in certain parts of the chickies with crystal lacquer. To finish it off I wired  a cute little tag with the sentiment and chickie prints to the bow.

I hope you liked my little creation...don't forget to leave me a comment and comments along the way to be entered for the prize drawing. Now then, off you go to visit with the other Tenia, Tenia Nelson (her spelling is cooler isn't it.). I can't wait to see what she has come up with...her work is always amazing!!

Love is in the air....

Can you believe the Month of December is gone and we are well into January already?? Holy cow it just flew by for me. Seems like we just did the wrapping paper hop last week....Well here we are again with another AWESOME theme and hop, lets get started cause by now you are probably gettin' a bit tired, mmkay? Don't worry, just 2 more awesome (in my opinion) people to go after this...(insert shoulder rub) You can do it!!!

If you didn't arrive here from Tenia Nelson's  blog (her stuff is always so clean and pretty) just head on back to DeNami Design's blog ta get back on track. Don't forget to leave those comments gals...DeNami Design is giving away two $20 gift certificates to two randomly picked people that have left comments along the hop, you have till January 9th @ 11:59pm PST!! So be sure to leave everyone a little love….we bloggers live for your comments and besides, who wouldn’t be excited about the possibility of winning a DeNami Design gift certificate??

Well here's what I came up with. Paulina gave me the idea of embossing on vellum and I have to say I love it! It really changes up the card. I've only used vellum to "tone down" a card...mainly patterned paper, never as a focal point. I can see much more of this in my future!

Okay, I'm keeping it short for once (you're welcome hehehe), so off you go to see something amazing from one of my crafting idols, Wendy Elliot. I can't wait to get by there myself!!

Lawn Fawn CHA Winter 2012 Challenge! - card #2

I debated and debated and debated again about submitting this card for Lawn Fawn's CHA challenge. I made this little card for my hubby and had already posted it on my blog and in Flicker some time ago...but I really really love it, and really wanted to submit it. After all the debating most of the day...hubby said I should just do it...guessing he was tired of listening to me ;)
I love this card for several reasons...the bright fun colors, sparkles (stickles), sentiment and just the overall funness of the whole thing.

Hope ya'll don't mind me re-posting this card...thanks for stopping by!

Lawn Fawn CHA Winter 2012 Challenge

What an amazing opportunity Lawn Fawn has for us!!! Did you see this post?!?!?! WOW is all I can say. I know there is a prize involved, but in my opinion just having a card in their catalog and that card being in their booth at the CHA is reward enough...they have gone over the top with this one :)

Well there's nothing like being down to the wire and some pressure is there? I've been working hard the last few days making sketch after sketch to come up with my perfect card to submit. I like everything I came up with, but I didn't think they were worthy of submitting. For some reason I just kept coming back a certain one several times so I decided to make a mock up card and see if my idea worked....it almost did lol. I originally planned to have two rows of tickets in a chevron pattern but the tickets are just too wide so I could only do one row. I still love the way it turned out though so I made a final version and here it is....
I stamped and cut out the ferris wheel and tickets. I added a little rhinestones to the cars and stickles to the tickets to make them pop.
Well I hope ya liked it.....
